Checking in - how is my 8 month old doing?

So, we have got into some kind of routine. I would like some opinions as to whether it is 'right' or not.

DD goes at bed at around 8. She wakes at about 5ish for a feed and then sleeps until 8 or 9. So... around 12 hours sleep at night.

She then has a nap over lunch time from about 11 to 1 or 2 - so another 2-3 hours.

Then she naps again at around 4 for 30mins to an hour.

Total hours of sleep per 24 hour period = 15 hours on average.

That sounds like an awful lot. Is it normal?

I don't mean to come across as smug as I know lots of people worry that their DCs sleep too little - was just wanting opinions as I really feel it's too much sometimes.

Coo, lucky you!!

If your baby's happy - and so are you - then your routine is fine. The range of sleep babies want/need is very wide, so if your baby is doing well on around 15 hours a day, then that's the amount she requires. I wouldn't worry about it.

What time babies go to bed and get up is as much a cultural habit as anything, so if 2000 bedtime and a getting up time between 8 and 9am is working for you and your LO, I wouldn't change a thing.

FWIW!

Very nornal and healthy. Sleep begets sleep in my opinion and a well rested baby is a happy baby :)
