12 week old waking in night for dummy

OK, so my DD2 is now sleeping through the night from 10.30 or so until 6-7am without a feed. Hooray! I never thought it would happen but it fell into place all of a sudden last week. After a week of sleeping through, she suddenly starts waking in the night, usually at 3am and then again at 4am. The first night, I assumed she was hungry and fed her at the 4am wake up, but she wasn't hungry and only had a bit of a suck. The following night she woke again and was happy with a dummy. Same again for the following few night - just wants a dummy!

Now I'm a quandry - I don't really fancy still getting up in the night to give her a dummy. It's obviously a phase, and she just needs a bit of comfort, which is understandable. But, does anyone know how long this 'phase' might last? Or have any tips? I'm not sure if keeping giving her the dummy is the best idea...

Are you absolutely sure she's not hungry? 13 weeks is very little to go 8 hours without food.

I know, I assumed she was hungry, but she just seems peed off if I try to feed her, or pick her up. She looks really grouchy and tired too, As soon as I put the dummy in she's out like a light. I tried leaving her a bit last night, and she settled herself at the 3am wake up, but was getting more worked up at the 4am wake up so I went in. I just don't want to get her into the habit of only being able to settle with a dummy...but then she is so little.

We did have this and it was a nightmare. To be honest, we just braved it out until ds was a little older and then we got a Sleepytot Baby Comforter which was great! But I guess another 3 months of this might be too long for you! Sorry i can't help. x
