I had a deal with my lo from when she was still inside me that as she was giving me a tricky pregnancy, she would give me an easy labour and be an easy baby!
True to her word I had an easy labour and she is the happiest most content baby Ive ever come across. She was sleeping from 10pm - 8am from 3 months and only waking up once. I was getting my sleep, the sun shone every day and the world was a great place.
Until 3 weeks ago (5 months old) when she would start screaming in her sleep- it was a very dramatic turn from the baby who slept through to having her screaming every 2 hours and not settling back!
I took everything out of her cot and made sure she had daytime naps and she started sleeping again without the screaming, phew, however she did not return to her same sleep pattern and instead now goes to bed at 10pm wakes up at 1am then 3am every 2 hours!
I've got so bad that I have got into the habit of sticking my boob in her mouth to put her back to sleep!
Now this is a problem as I am also slowly trying to ween her to have her bedtime feed from a bottle!
I need advice!
Did anyone go through this?
Was I just being spoilt in the beginning or is it possible to get back the routine we had and loved ???

No advice, but sympathy.
DD did the same thing at about the same age, gone from practically sleeping through to waking every 1.5 to 3 hours for a feed.(still BF) She did go back down after feeding, but it was the shock of having previously only needing the odd feed in the night, to getting up 4 or 5 times.
She's now 6 months and sleeping better, still up once-ish but often not till 4am.

Hopefully it will pass.

Yep I had the same thing- a brilliant sleeper from a very early age (and I felt so smug!) whose sleep then went haywire around 4 months. I think it's entirely normal. She's 6 months now and the nights are not as bad, but she has still been waking up between 1am and 2am and then between 4am and 5am and I was feeding her both times, though to be honest she didn't seem hungry and was not taking much. So I decided to cut out the first feed by pushing it back a little bit each night, settling her by patting if she wakes before then. Have been doing this for a few nights now, and my "rule" is that I won't feed her before 3am. Though I do have to get up several times to pat her back to sleep when she wakes between 1 and 2am, she settles each time without feeding within minutes, so I'm pretty sure she's not hungry. I don't need to pick her up. Last night she woke 3 times between 1.45 and 2.15, I settled her each time, then she woke at 4.40am- I fed her and she went back to sleep til 7.30am. A big improvement.

Hope that helps.

Thought I was the only smug one! :-)
Well last night I fed her in her sleep at 11.30pm before her usual 1am wake up and just patted her back to sleep for her actual wake ups. She didnt cry for food so Im guessing it is not actual hunger at all and Im going to stop pushing my boob in her mouth to get her back to sleep!
Thanks guys
