DD wakes up screaming every night

My 10month old DD has started to wake up during the middle of the night screaming and it takes ages to calm her down. We've tried everything and last night, DH had to take her for a walk in her buggy at 3.00am to get her back to sleep.

This has been going on for a week now, and I can't think what's causing it. Has anyone else had this?

Yep, we had this on and off between 6 and 12 months. I remember the 3am street walks very well. Turns out DS was getting terrible infections and glue ear which are more painful when they lie down because the pressure builds. Ear problems are really common in babies but often go undiagnosed even though they're responsible for a lot of unexplained sleep problems (experts say controlled crying won't work with babies who've got bad ears). Of course, it may not be ears but worth a visit to the GP to get DD checked and rule it out. If it is ears - good luck. It makes life miserable for the whole family and outside people don't really understand how devasting it can be. Nurofen is the shorterm cure. Grommets are the longterm solution. Hope it all works out for you.
