2-3-4 napping. How old?

Up until now I have been, more or less, following 2 hour awake before naps for my 8 month old. Thisgenerally works. I can't stick to certina times of the day as the length of time she sleeps can vary from 30mins to 1hour and half.

Have heard mention of moving towards the 2 hours after first nap, then 3 hours, then 4 before bed and wondered if anyone else was using this? and at what age did you go from 3 naps to 2?

ds is 8.5 months and from 6 months to now he has done 2-3-4. so up 7am. nap 9am til 10am. next nap 1pm til 3pm. bed 7pm. worked very nicely.

but then at 8 months he started crawling, got a tooth, and started cruising. with this he seems to have decided to do his 2 hours in the morning and drop Shock the afternoon nap. so this week he's done up 7am (sometimes as late as 8am though), nap 9.30am til 11.30pm. bed 7pm Shock. he is very very cranky by 4pm, and will only rarely nap in the afternoon if we're out in the car/pram.

he seems ok though! Grin

I never paid that much attention to it! My babies all catnapped when they got a chance - in the buggy, in the sling, in the car, or occassionally if they were lucky, in bed after feeding to sleep at home!
