SHOULD I EXPECT TROUBLE?

My DD is nearly 8 months old and sleeps fine at night now so... we're moving her into her own room at the week-end. Some people have said they;ve had a real battle getting their babies to sleep alone in their own room. What should I expect and are there any tips?

We built up to it by putting our dd in her own room for daytime naps and then at 6 months put her in her own room - she was fine - it was me that didn't sleep at first listening out for her!

What does she sleep in at the moment?

we never had any problems at all. Dd was already in her cot in our room so it was just a change of room rather than a change of bed and room. If anything, we all slept better as dd was a noisy fidgety sleeper and kept me awake quite a lot (dh slept through anything and everything of course!!)

We did start off using the monitor between the 2 room but it picked up every little snuffle/moan so we stopped using it and just left both bedroom doors open. That meant we heard dd when she was properly crying but were able to leave her to settle herself if she was just moaning/shifting about in her sleep.

We moved baby into own room at 6 months old, first went from crib into big cot in our room and then moved cot into own room at 6 months. I think the baby got a better sleep in its own room, no problems, did use baby monitor and still do, especially as baby is teething and I like to keep an eye on baby so not too upset.

She IS already in her cot but in our room, so it is just changing her surroundings...? Hopefully she'll be fine.
