How much sleep does a nearly nine month old need?

DS goes down between 1930 and 2030 at night, and wakes up between 0700 and 0830 the next morning. He feeds twice at night - normally around midnight and 4am.

He has an hours nap around 1100, normally, and half hour around 1800. But thats it.

Is this okay? Am worried he isn't sleeping enough, but he is happy and active during the day.

TIA.

If he's happy and active in the day and not showing any signs of being overtired, sounds like he's getting enough to me.

How much they are supposed to get (in tables in books etc) isn't really based on much other than anecdotal evidence - this site is good for the lowdown on what 'they' really know: Here be the clicky

What's causing the concern? Have his sleep patterns changed recently?

Just that people with babies of similar ages say their children sleep a lot more Nothing else, really.

Well, he sleeps a lot more than my DD! They're all just different, I think...

Ah, other people's babies. Also my main source of insecurity

Its very silly, isn't it? Today he slept even less... Maybe an hour in total? Sigh. He's a very active child already, surely he should be knackered?!
