DS has never been a good sleeper and i've never tried CC or anything like that as can't bear to hear him cry.
He's in a bed now rather than a cot, as got to the stage where he could climb out of cot. I have to sit with him while he falls asleep (usually about half an hour but can be much longer). If i left the room he'd get straight out of bed and if i went downstairs he'd wail for me on the landing. The only way i envsiage this getting better is waiting until he's older and can understand explanations/bribes/threats but i'd be grateful if anyone could share their experiences of getting a toddler to settle themselves to sleep. Obv what i would ideally do is go back in time and train him to do this as a baby, but the fact is he's been bf/cuddled/sat with every night for the last 2 years so that's what we're working with.
(he also wakes every night and gets in our bed - i was going to ask for help with that too but realised that i don't mind it that much, plus am too lazy to do anything other than drag him into our bed at 2am, so prob wouldn't act on any suggestions received!)
Thanks in anticipation.
