my 5mth old has started to go to sleep at 5pm every night and will go through until 3am most nights without a feed inbetween, Sometimes he gets tired earlier so i put him down fully expecting him to wake for a feed and then i can bath and then put him to bed a decent hour. He used to be very good and its only in the last month or so hes started to do this, should i be waking him or am i just lucky and should i let him sleep straight through??? He is no worse off and he doesnt seem any different than when he was going down later.

Any advice please

unless he's had a head injury recently and/or is unusually sleepy, this will be a phase. (if he has had a head injury or is unusually sleepy, get medical help obviously)

you could try waking him for a feed and bath and see what happens, if you're concerned he's not feeding enough due to this extended sleep.

my DD started sleeping 9pm - 5am at 8 weeks. I figured if she was doing this herself then what is the point in waking her. Her weight gain has been fine so she must be getting what she needs in the day.

On the one occasion I woke her to feed, just to see, she wouldn't go back to sleep and was very unhappy about it!!!!! Never again will I wake a sleeping baby

We've had quite a few blips in this since she got to about 13 weeks (she's 17 weeks now) with more night wakings, so I know she will wake me up if she is really hungry.
She's settling downn again now - although last night was AWFUL!

I agree with bunnyfrance - dd slept through for about a month and now is back to 2 feeds a night. make the most of it!
