Can you recommend a skiing resort? (traveling with a 10month old)

Hi,
Could anyone recommend a good ski resort that provides good childcare?

We'd like to go skiing (most likely France) at the end of February/early March with our DS (who'll be 10 months then). I'd like to be able to leave DS in childcare for 2-3 hours a day. He's quite active (crawling...and fast ), but I think he's a bit too young for a real playgroup (he might actually stick a finger in another baby's eye or something).

Also, it'd be really helpful if the place had pushchairs to rent - I don't think our travel pushchair can handle snow that well (BJ city mini).

In terms of the slopes, we're really flexible, as both me and DH are pretty confident skiers (nothing extreme for me though), all we need are pretty mountain views .

Thanks for your help!

I know Verbier has nannies if that is any help.

I would recommend going with snowbizz to puy st vincent - see reviews on mumsnet. They have their own small nursery which is very well run. The nannies were excellent when we went a couple of years ago. We had complete confidence in them and booked one of them to babysit one evening as well as using the daytime childcare. Prices compare well to other family TOs. The resort is not that extensive but quite pretty with lots of tree lined runs. Fine for a week.

Have a look at The Family Ski Company.

We've been to ardent with them and had a wonderful trip. The youngest child in our group was 6 months and the oldest was 6. they all had a great time

We've stayed at several Kinderhotels (mainly Austria) before and they are fab in terms of childcare: creche, playroom, free pushchairs, nappies, 24h milk/baby food bar in restaurant etc. Also great food and spa/pool for adults.

I can second Family Ski Company. We've been with them twice and childcare has been consistently brilliant both times.

Ardent has a large ski area that should keep you occupied! - chalets, food and hot tub all fab too!

I think the majority of ski resorts have nannies available. I'd find a resort that you'd like to go to and then give a quick phone call to make sure that they have what you are looking for.

I'm sure it won't be a problem. :-)

Let us know where you book in the end!

I'm sure you'll have a great time wherever you decide to go!
