Morzine in April? Mental idea????

My in-laws have just moved to Morzine and have invited us out to stay with them during the easter holidays. I think that Morzine is a 'low' resort and as such, possibly we would be skiing on sludge.

Anyone been at this time of year? Im reluctant to book flights, although not skiing doesnt bother me, DP would be bothered by it.

We stayed close to Morzine in April this year visiting family and were hoping to get some skiing in but in the end the weather was gorgeously warm in Evian so we stayed by the pool instead! (freakishly warm "shorts weather" that weekend!).

However, the snow reports at the time were indicating that morning skiing was fine in Morzine and Avoriaz but slushy by mid-late afternoon. I'm guessing that is par for the course in that part of the alps.

We did a season in Morzine and rode up at Avoriaz right up until the end of the season. True, it can get a little slushy but spring snow is great fun for popping ollies on and generally messing about.

How early is Easter next year?

Sorry- only just realised that I was rude in not replying.

Going out to Morzine for 4 days on the 19th Jan. Very much looking forward to it- very spontaneous decision (given that we go to Zell am See for a week in Feb).

Thanks again for replying to my OP- much appreciated
