Haven't been skiing since we had the kids and would love to go in February but worried about the expense and the practicalities of taking young children so would love to hear all your experience and advice. We've been skiing in Ardent before in a private chalet and really like the look of the Family Ski Company. We have a 1 year old and a 2 1/2 year old so they would need to use the creche. So my main questions are: how does it work out sharing a chalet with other families (none of our friends have the same week off work)? Will the kids be happy in the creche (they go to nursery at home and we would be happy to ski for half a day and play with them in the afternoons)? Would we have to share a family room with both kids - have others done this successfully? Any other tips and advice would be welcomed. We would be struggling to afford it - my heart says go but my head says we probably shouldn't!

Have you decided MrsFogi? We've done the sums and decided that we just can't afford it this year . Maybe next year!

I like the look of the Family Ski Co. too. Our are that bit older though so don't really need all the child care.
When in doubt... go with the heart I say!!

We went to Ardent with Family Ski Company last year and it was great.

The childcare is excellent. Our 1 year old, who hadn't settled brilliantly in creche at home settled really quickly on the first day and had a fantastic time. Our bigger 2 (age 4 & 7) loved the kids clubs so much they chose to stay there rather than have an afternoon with us!!!!! Guilt free skiing...

We had never shared with people we didn't know before and so were a bit nervous about it but it worked out really well. It was great to meet new people and share our experiences of the day over dinner. Also the fact that we all had young kids meant that kids tea was noisy and mad and nobody cared.

We had a family room with our 3 kids - it worked fine because we put them down before our dinner and then were able to relax downstairs before going up ourselves - a baby monitor was provided.

My advise - go for it, you won't regret it!

We have been twice now with DD - she loves going into the creche and, as BM3 said, there are usually other parents in the chalet with you so the kids eat together and you can then have a nice sociable evening.
