Hello to everyone on the skiing topic!

Got back a couple of weeks ago but haven't managed to post until now.

We had a brilliant holiday and felt as if we'd had a total rest. In fact, we were really depressed at the airport. I just wanted to do a runner and not get on the plane.

Everyone in our chalet was really nice and the esprit staff were excellent. DS had a great time, made some new friends and loved skiing.

gingerwine, we many have unknowingly crossed paths-I always think I will instantly spot a fellow MNer! We prob weren't on same coach-there seemed to be loads...Did you have a good holiday in Le Landiliers(sp?)

fourkids, thanks for the post re the mirror!

toomany, did you have a good time at the Schatzi?

Glad you had a good time SAS

Its great to feel so positive about a ski trip. I understand how you felt at the airport........all I could think of is that we would have a whole year to wait before we ski again .

Hi TheRealMrsJS!

Sounds like you had a good time too (apart from fire alarm drama)! The hotel sounds great. May keep that in mind for another year.

BTW, How did you get on with the ski lifts??

p.s. my holiday review not yet on, not sure how long it takes. Hope it hasn't gone missing-took me ages to type.

Hi Sunshine and Snowflakes. Great to hear you had a good time. Yes I kept wondering if people I saw were you!!
We had a fab time. Both ds's loved it. 5 year old is now converted to joys of skiing. 9 year old with no fear will be better than me before too long, ( I could hardly catch up with him at times).
Did you go on any of the guided skiing? We went on the first one and started the second but then headed off to Italy as the group was pretty big.
Not the best visibility on some days was it?? Lovely views once the sun came out though!
Great chalet and everyone got on really well, ( there were 5 families and none of us knew each other when we arrived).
My ds's are still singing "It's a repeat after me song. What is it?" etc...etc...
Roll on next year when we can go again ( although we are TTC so we'll have to wait and see). So depressing to be back to reality.

Hi gingerwine!

Yes, it is rubbish to be home. Am REALLY missing the beautiful mountains.

Maybe we should have worn something to let each other know that it was us. Kept thinking I should just go up to people and say "are you gingerwine?" but I'm too shy.

Glad to hear you had a great time. It's so brilliant for children isn't it?

We did consider doing to guided skiing but in the end just went off on our own. We might have met if we'd done it!!

I agree, the weather was pretty pants at first and SO COLD! My feet were always freezing. Managed to get over to Italy on thursday and had a wonderful day on the runs over there. Had to do that big long run down into the town as they had closed to Saint Bernard(?) chairlift. Did find the lifts a bit unreliable.

Don't think my review is going to appear as have been on the MNHQ as they don't seem to know anything about it. Can't face typing it out again so may have to just do a condensed version!
