Ski Famille vs Family Ski Company vs Esprit

Am about to book ski holiday and all three of these have fantastic discounts at the moment so am spoilt for choice. Has anyone any experience of how these companies compare?

Just remember that Esprit include flights, skifamilie include childcare and Family Ski include neither in their prices.

We went with Ski Beat who were very good - if you ring them up you can get more discounts than their website states. E.g. we went for £399 pp (inc flights) (2 adults and 1 infant in our party) whereas the advertised price for that chalet was £709. I'm guessing they dont' advertise the discount available soemtimes because the rest of the people in the chalet had paid full price. Defo worth ringing.

I have skiied with Ski Espirt 5 times and Ski Famille once (this year) and would go for Ski famille...

HOWEVER

Daisy is right - the costs are not comparable - you need to factor in flights/ childcare, so work out the numbers.

I aslo noticed that Ski Esprit have a sneaky £20 pp 'late availability' charge on top of their published prices so get the FINAL cost before making any decision....

When my travel agent looked into Esprit, there was also a £16.50 "currency charge..." WTF! With all teh extras it added soemthing like £100 to teh holiday. With ski beat, the price was the price.

We had to dump Esprit in the end because they had no Manchester flights available.

I looked into booking with Esprit last year and was put off by a daily bathroom charge amongst other things. They also charge extra for some flights I think and only offer holidays with flights (no train/self drive). However there are better discounts this year so you may well get a good deal with Esprit.

In your position I would do a quick excel spreadsheet and put in all the costs for the options with the 3 operators (travel, accommodation, childcare, lift pass etc).

Both ski famille and family ski are small companies and I imagine they would offer a small friendly service. I think family ski offer a transfer in their own minibus. Esprit are bigger so would offer a greater choice of resorts and accommodation.

Thanks, we were planning on driving anyway so with the Esprit supplements £36.50 per person they're not nearly as cheap as they first appeared when we factor in the ferry. Which chalet did you stay in Legacy and was the ski area good? Never been to Porte du Soleill before.

Hi DueIn
We went to LesGets and stayed with Ski Famille at Chalet Marjorie - it was great, and I'd go back again given half a chance!

Les Gets ski area was fine for us and the kids - and when we went it wasn't even fully open. Where did you decide in the end?
