More La Rosiere questions!

You can tell we are going soon- I am obsessing about little things now!

1. Does the childrens beginners area have a magic carpet?

2. Can you buy/hire sledges (to pull them along in the streets) for a four year old?

It did three yrs ago!

There are normally sledges lying around in boot rooms - the nannies use them sometimes. Failing that yes you can buy or hire.

Don't forget to pack a hairdryer - I always tend to forget and it's a right nuisance!

We bought a sledge recently for 13 Euros - at teh bottom of the valley. Same ones were available in resorts (we went to several but not La Rosiere) for about 20 Euro.

DS1 (4.3) learnt to ski at Christmas. He loved it, although didn't want to go to ski school - so his Dad and I taught him. No magic carpets where we were, but he coped fine with chairlifts (always with one of us), and managed a poma on his own (in beginners' area at Risoul which is great), and several going up with me / Dad. It is hard work picking them up, but great fun too. He loved sledging too and if you can pick up one of those little plastic "tea trays" with a handle (2/3 Euros) - you DS will have a fab time.

Hi. We are going to La Rosiere on 8th Feb and we went there last year. The beginners area that our youngest ds used had a magic carpet and I think the other area did too. ( Different areas used by different ski schools).
There were some sledges in the boot room of the chalet we were in, but you can buy them in resort if not. There was definately a pull along one cos I remember pulling my ds (then 4) into the village.
Are you going with esprit?

The answer is yes to both. The beginners area has a magic carpet and also a rope tow on it.

You can hire sledges and there were cheap ones in the shops when we looked to buy.

We are flying Bristol to Chambery so we should be on the same transfer bus! Small world!! We have one 9 year old ds in the sprite intermediates (knows no fear and is fairly scary to watch!) and one 5 year old ds in the sprite beginners (didn't really master snow plough last year and thinks slope is just a big slide where someone catches you at the bottom!). How about you?

Yes, we probably will be then! I think our flight lands about 11.30.

We have one DS who is four and half and he will be in Sprite beginners as well. He has had some dry slope lessons and can just about stop (either with a very wonky snow plough or by falling over!).

We were in La Rosiere at the beginning of January. If you are staying actually in La Ros then the childrens area has a magic carpet with a button pull. However the one in Les Eucherts only has a moving magic carpet.

We went with Ski-beat and they very kindly let us use the sledges they had although I must add that it was very very quiet. The ski hire shops do hire them out but the simple ones are pretty cheap in the supermarkets.

Yippee!! I bet all this snow is getting you excited! I can't wait. Just as long as planes can still take off!! Nearly time to start packing.
