We are skiing with Esprit and so far it is fab Happy children currently playing a wild game of something with the snow rangers, drink in my hand, dh is snoring ore-dinner

Perfect holiday, great skiing, great childcare - Highly recommened if you are yet to book. Virtually ski to the door, basic rooms, but lots of hot water and a nice cosy bar area to chill out in

What's the snow like? We're going to alp d'huez in march am hoping there's a good base as well as more snow closer to the time.

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 14/01/2009 21:46

Glad you are having fun Crunchie . Sounds like a great holiday. I will keep the Mariandre in mind for next year's trip - it was on our short list (together with Deux Domaines in Belle Plagne - but Belle Plagne won out.....having had a sh*te trip last year, I desperately needed a little luxury in case the slopes were not my thang.

Pan · 14/01/2009 22:02

Hope the sun comes out, contrary to standard planetary and solar activity movement and all the snow disappears by the morning......

Not really. Am off to Chatel in 10 days time.

There's nothing like it is there??

Hi Crunchie - hopr you're still having a fab time, a couple of questions if you log on again while you're still there!

We're off to the Mariandre in a couple of weeks and would like to know .... what is the ski hire shop called that's closest to (in same building?) as the hotel? Is there really free wi-fi? (DH wants to bring laptop but will only use it if there is free wi-fi). Anything else useful I need to know?!
Thanks.

vlc · 18/01/2009 01:37

ooo, I'm . We nearly bought a place in Oz-en-Oisans (but didn't). Have you done the Sarenne yet?

Crunchie · 18/01/2009 18:25

hattie2, OK free wifi - bar area only, but yes is free. 2ndly the shop they use is Ze Ski (part of sport 2000) we prebooked cheaply online. The shop directly underneath is Altitude I think, but Ze Sport is used to esprit poeple and sport 2000 off online discounts.

It was really fab and hopefullly it will snow this week and you will get great snow next week!!

Vic did the Sarenne but it was closed !!! It was not great as condidtions were yuck, Le Fare was AMAZING, best run of the resort

Hiya Crunchie! Glad to hear you guys are having fun.
DH has a question? What are the beds like?

Oooohhh I'm getting soooo excited. First time of skiing with our LO - she'll be 8/9m when we go, depending when we go. I'm still on ML so we're going to leave it really last minute and just see what we can get.

Have a lovely holiday!

LIZS · 18/01/2009 20:37

Esprit offers At those prices even we (not huge Esprit fans) might be tempted !

Crunchie · 18/01/2009 21:08

Beds were OK, we had twin beds puched together. Not as nice as home big enough though

Hi Crunchie

Now you're back, would u recommend Le Mariandre? Trying to decide between that one and Alba in Meribel.
