Has anyone used the resort creche in Morzine?

Thinking of using it for my 20 month old. Specifically do they get to go outside much, and on their website it says you have to have proof that they are vaccinated against TB. Did you get this done and or did they actually check the records?

Hi,

Just wondered if you have found out anymore about this?

We are off to Morzine in March 09 with our baby who will 11 months then and are looking into whether using one of the English run nannying services or the local creche.

thehairybabysmum · 30/10/2008 21:45

Ive used the one in Avoriaz...was v. good.

crabby · 02/11/2008 13:56

hairybaby what was the creche that you used? How old was your baby? DD will be 6 months old and I really want to take her to a very good creche (PFB syndrome and all!!)

Cant remember the name, it was french and lovely. My DS was 3 months old (!!!!!!!!!). I was v happy with it and he seemed fine...at that age he just slept most of the time though.

If you google avoraiz tourist info i think i got their details through them.

There is one in town but it's a looooong way from the hotels or the pistes. Can't remember what it's called. I didn't use it and was very glad when I saw when it was. Can you remember what the one you're thinking of is called? Might jog my memory

Hi, we used this one when DS was 7 months old. It was fine. French run but other english babies there. Light and airy place and DS seemed happy enough there. Its about a 5 min walk from the town centre I would say. I wouldn't have a prob with using it again.
Have a good holiday - so jealous of anyone skiing this year as am 16 weeks pg so having to sit this season out.

ladyhelen2 · 08/11/2008 15:07

Oops sorry. Just double checked. We used the one in Morzine - L'Outa - it was called. Not the Avoriaz one.

Ollie08 · 08/11/2008 19:57

Ladyhelen,

We are considering using l'outa in Morzine in march. Their website says that babies need to be vaccinated against TB which they do in France but we obviously don't do in the UK, did you have your DS vaccinated against this or wasn't it an issue?

Thanks

ladyhelen2 · 11/11/2008 13:31

I don't think I did have him vaccinated (unless it was done routinely here 3 years ago and pretty sure it wasn't?) and I don't remember it being an issue at all. I had his red book with me and I don't think they checked it so I wouldn't worry. Just say your LO has if they ask! How will they know?

wildstrawberry · 10/12/2008 11:09

We've booked both DSs into the Piou Piou in Morzine. It's run by the ESF so includes their skiing lessons. We have been caught by the exchange rate though!!

TheRealMrsJohnSimm · 29/12/2008 21:51

We have routinely used creches in this region (Haute Savoie) inside and outside of ski season (FIL lives in Thollon Les Mesmises) of France and neither of our DCs have TB vaccination. We have not been asked if they have or haven't on arrival at creche, nor have we been asked to provide proof of vaccination.

You should be fine to just turn up.

IwishIwasmoreorganised · 29/12/2008 21:59

Just back from Morzine and we saw Jack frosts out and about with their mindees a lot and everyone seemed to be happy and having fun.

hibercote · 30/12/2008 11:51

Hi,
I put DS and DD in the L'Outa creche in March 2008. It was well-managed, clean, spacious and the staff were friendly. As our children weren't vaccinated for TB, I asked them about it before going and they said it was fine. In fact, they never checked my red book at all!
