Les Coches New Year

I’m planning a ski trip this new year and looking at Les Coches for my family, two teens 16/19 who are first timers. I’m a nervous novice and DP is advanced. I know it’s quite low but seems relatively straightforward to access higher resorts like La plagne or Les arcs. Any advice from people who know these resorts and the reality of beginner skiing there would be welcome.

I don’t know it but it sounds like a good place for you given your varying abilities. As a total beginner consider whether you need a full lift pass (expensive) or if the free beginnner lift will suffice.

I've only skied through the area going to Les Arcs so don't know the runs well.

It is in the trees which means that if the weather is bad you still have visibility but the higher areas of La Plagne are easily accessible and more likelyto be snow sure.

Is there much of a difference in price between there and say Belle Plagne?

We did look at Belle Plagne as it seems
brilliant for our levels. The accomodation did seem to be quite a bit more, but we haven’t ruled it out. It could also be alot busier though?

If it's a lot more expensive that Les Cloches may be a good call.

It's not very low like Morzine for example.

It's simple to get high and it's on the main route back from Les Arcs to Plagne Centre.

For your husband it's close to the cable car to get to Les Arcs which he may like
