Snowy Christmas?

I would love to take 13 YO DD away for a week at Christmas, somewhere magical and snowy. Christmas markets, fairytale snowy, she would love to try snow boarding, toboggoning, bonus but not mandatory are husky, snow mobile. We've already been to Lapland and don't want the main focus to be on ski/SB but may want to try.

I do have Saltzburg on my bucket list - can anyone recommend somewhere we can include the above?

Whistler village is magical at Christmas

Kitzbühel. Should be snowy, makes a big deal of Christmas traditions, looks the part. Has ice-skating on a lake as well as the usual snow sports.

If you like the markets etc I’d say Austria. But how’s about a bit of a two centre eg Salzburg and then on elsewhere for skiing? I’ve been to kitzbuhel over new year (years ago) and while you could ski, it wasn’t great. If you’re going to Austria go high which won’t be quite so cute.

Lovely town… but it wasn’t that cold and the snow was lacking.

You’ll be paying a huge premium in a ski resort over Christmas and won’t necessarily have snow at resort level. I’d stick with Finland eg Levi/Ruka for these kinds of holidays but to be honest at her age I’d really recommend taking her skiing for a really fun experience.

The risk is that there will not be much snow that low down for Christmas. Maybe Zell am See from where you can get train to Salzburg and there is a glacier nearby at Kaprun if snow is not reliable on the mountain. Or Seefeld which is less than an hour to Innsbruck or Garmisch and a pretty resort with easy ski slopes and other activities.
