Keen to take dc (young teenage) ski-ing. Me & dh don’t want to ski. Considering Xmas time fly from UK. Anyone suggest a resort or resorts when we can go family of 4 but just the 2 teenagers have novice lessons? We’re all new to ski so have no idea. Ideally short transfer time from airport on arrival. Any ideas/advice. Thanks

Start by looking at the webstes of the main tour operators - e.g. Crystal, Nielsen, Heidi, Inghams etc. - to get an idea of the resorts, prices, transfer times etc.

As you are beginners, I'd recommend that you book though one of these companies as everything is organised for you - flights, transfers, accommodation, lessons, ski rental, lift tickets etc. - and a rep is in resort to sort out any issues that arise.

As for suggested resorts - Zell am See in Austria has plenty for non-skiers to do, as does nearby Saalbach-Hinterglemm, and the transfer from Salzburg airport is short. La Rosiere in France is nice, but the transfer time is much longer. Kronplatz in Italy might also be an option. Others will be able to give you their favourite recommendations.

Agree with the above poster. I’d add that you don’t want to be going to a mega (3 Valleys /Val d’isere) resort. As you’re not skiing I think that’s important - you won’t want inexperienced teenagers exploring too far! I think Zell might be an option, but see where you (non skiers) want to go and find a resort with good greens and blues. You don’t need more than 50km of piste and probably want less!
