Looking to book next winter and wondered if anyone could let me know their thoughts on it. Decent apres ski? Good lift network?

Just got back it was fantastic and you can get to Switzerland easily and ski all the Zermatt runs. Lovely little town. We stayed at hotel sertorelli and it was amazing

Skied there in 2022 and liked it a lot. I think the lift system has been upgraded since then. Good for coffee stops and lovely long runs down. Zermatt side is good too.

High altitude so guarnteed snow. Much cheaper than the Swiss side. Good lift infrastructure

The long blue runs on the Italian side are very flattering for beginners/intermediates. Ditto the reds. Confident skiers can ski on the Swiss side when the weather is good. But there is a BIG difference between the Cervinia reds and the Swiss reds so be warned!

We always stay at the Excelsior Planet - very close to the slopes. But if you are going with absolute beginners it can be difficult to get over to Plan Maison where the easy slopes are.

We went last year. Good skiing but not that great for off piste, but some really nice long wide reds for carving. The standard of skiing was pretty good, not many over-ambitious beginners, drunks or unreasonable people. It's high so there's a risk of high winds closing the lifts. The après ski wasn't that great: not much in town and the cabineri close the bars on the slopes early and chase everyone back down the mountain. The food is really good! I get bored of germanic food after a week so the variety and quality of Italian food was a welcome change. I'd definitely go again.
