Leather boots in snow

Dd 12 is going skiing with school in April. Does she need snow boots or will her leather ankle boots with good tread do the job would you say? I believe they have heated lockers at the hotel for drying things out.

Actually, they are Geox leather effect with a lining not real leather. Is that better or worse …

They'll be fine!
Spray them with a waterproofing spray. Mine wear trainers but you have to think about whether they'll be out in the snow much.
Ie is their ski boot room in the accommodation or do they need to walk to get their skis each day? Will they eat in the accommodation or be going out? Will they want to play in the snow?

I usually walk around resort in either trail runners if it's just walking to the shop/bar/restaurant and my hiking boots if I'm going around town for the afternoon. So, I'd say she doesn't need snow boots, just something with very decent grip that's she'd comfortable in.

Obviously when she's on skis, she'll need ski boots - which are usually hired.

Ah, thanks. It sounds like they will be going out quite a lot but I think the boot room is at the hotel. Waterproof spray good shout!

There shouldn’t be a lot of snow in the resort itself at that time of year. She’ll probably be fine in trainers most of the time.

In April there won't likely be snow on the ground wherever they are staying, so she will be fine.

Thanks everyone!

I recommend her taking either snow boots or walking boots - I've been without once by accident and regretted it

I wear hiking boots to walk around the resort with Yaktrax on.
