Easy short ski break for beginners

I'm looking for a short ski break for beginners. We are two adults and a 13-year-old. We went to Andorra in February last year, and it was great, but it took some time to get there.

It was the first time we went, so we're likely to want easy slopes, a school, and little travel to get there. Feb 25. Do you have any ideas?

The easiest short breaks I've been on have been flying in to Geneva and then on to either Morzine/Les Gets or Samoens. There are lots of smaller resorts too in that area that would suit beginners like La Clusaz for example.

Any thoughts on Bulgaria?

Feb half term? I’d avoid France , everywhere will be packed as it’s French holidays too, and you may not be able to find a short break rather than a week. Look at Italy - Cervinia for example is a short transfer and has plenty of beginner runs.

An agent like Ski Solutions can help further.

Austria is great! Fly into Salzburg or innsbruck and you can get to some amazing ski resorts within an hour or so. You can get to some of them by train which is really handy! Innsbruck train to st anton, seefeld, mayrhofen, the ski welt area (hopfgarten, brixen im Thale, kirchberg), kitzbuhel, st Johann. All easily accessible with no or one train change. Plenty of transfer companies as well. Seefeld is less than 30mins by train (though it's a small resort).

Austria is so much nicer than France for skiing and there are some decent flights into Salzburg and Innsbruck.

You can also use Munich, it's just a bit further but loads more flights! Garmisch-Patenkirchen is also a great place to ski and is in Germany and easily accessible from Munich.

So true! Feb in France is their holiday month and it can be awful on the roads and slopes

Second the Austria recommendation. We learned in Rauris, which was about 90 minutes by train from Salzburg and really easy to get to. Its a teeny tiny resort, so brilliant if you're newbies or if you're only doing a short break.
Zell Am See is literally down the road if you want something bigger.

Ah I missed that it was Feb half term. Yeah maybe not France. We really enjoyed Scheffau in Austria when we were with beginners. Or will put Pila in Italy out there if you can fly into Turin it's a short transfer.
