Skibeat - disappointing experience trying to book

Well, a bit disappointed . We want to go back to la Rosiere next year. Mindful of others who are booking hols for next year and fiding availability aready low (although we are NOT now going for peak week of half-term), I tried today to book a room in a chalet for myslef and DC with SkiBeat. Was told in a rather offhand way that if I made a booking must be 'flexible' as would be looking to take whole chalet bookings first. So I could bokk and make a deposit but get bumped into some other location if they got a better offer...
I understand business-wise why they want to fill up a chalet, but if I choose a particular one it is for specific reasons - ie location and facilities.
WOuld book instantly again with Esprit who were excellent and not chippy about full chalets, but my DC will be too old next year ( 11& 9).
The other La Ros option appears to be Ski Olympic - ny views on that company gratefuly received...

Can't help with other companies but can strongly recommend Skibeat in La Ros. I don't know when you are thinking of going but when we booked in January for March we had a LOT of choice of chalets.

I have usually found them really helpful on the phone so am disappointed to here this. Would they let you give them a list of acceptable chalets/rooms ?

It's their policy not to open chalets up for part-bookings until May/June. We were unable to book our chalet in La Tania as we couldn't fill it, so after weighing the pros & cons we decided to book with another company as we're worried about availibilty. Shame, but if you're not going at Feb half-term I don't think it will be a problem if you leave it a bit.

If you're prepared to try somewhere different I can highly recomment Summit Chalets in Meribel. It's an English company run by Ray and Yvonne Galpin and they host the chalet. We've had a wonderful week with them and couldn't fault them at all. They would not bump you if they got a whole chalet booking the week you wanted to go.

Here are their contact details:
