Can anyone tell me more about skiing in Japan? We would love to go but resorts look pretty limited piste. Is it all about off piste?

Did you ‘just’ ski or combine with other activities.

We’ve been to Japan, but not in the winter

I actually visited Japan for skiing a few years ago and had a great time. While the resorts there don't have as many groomed runs as places like the Alps, there is still plenty of good skiing to be had on piste. Niseko in particular has some amazing powder fields when it's been snowing. The off piste is where Japan really shines though - the light, dry powder is amazing for exploring in the trees. As for other activities, you can definitely combine skiing with visiting cities like Tokyo - the culture is so interesting.
