Ski gear for tall people

We have booked our first family ski trip to Montgenevre at Christmas but now need to sort out all of the gear. My kids (age 11 and 13) haven't skied before so don't want to spend a fortune on clothes in case they don't like it (and they will no doubt grow out of it), but we are all incredibly tall. My son already wears 35 inch leg trousers and my daughter 33inch, plus I need 35inchs too (my husband is the shortest so he's fine). Does anyone have any suggestions of ski trousers for really tall people that don't cost a fortune?

I'm going to ask a daft question - does it really matter if the ski trousers are slightly short? As long as they go over your ski boots and have a snow gaiter to stop snow popping up, a few inches probably doesn't matter too much while actually skiing.

My husband is ok with some Dare2B ski trousers - he's got an inside leg of 34.

we haven't had a problem either, except with all in one ski suits

Oh god, yes, and 80s style ski jumpsuit would be agony depending on body length.

I have a 34 inch inside leg and have terrible problems getting normal trousers, never ever had a problem with ski gear though. It really just doesn't matter if the ski trousers are slightly short. They never are though.

Thank you all, that’s good to know about the lengths (definitely no chance we’ll be buying any all in ones). If you have any recommendations for very reasonably priced ski gear do let me know.

Decathlon, Dare2B (look on ebay or the regatta/dared2b outlet for bargains) , there's also usually aldi and lidl ski weeks in winter.

Protest makes girls ski kit up to 172cm (that's what I'm wearing as an adult! ) so I guess their boys ranges goes taller. If they're still growing, try Vinted. No point buying new for 1 week

As a fellow 'tall person', I can highly recommend Peak Performance. Whilst not a cheap brand you can usually pick up some great end of season bargains. Really good quality, have had my jacket and pants for the last 5 seasons and still going strong, albeit a little faded! For the kids, Decathlon is a good shout. There are a few resorts offering second hand gear in their stores. Also, you have the option to rent kit if you don't want to buy. Hope that helps.

Decathlon are a good bet. Both of my children have huge feet (10 year old wears size 6, 12 year old wears 10.5). I struggled to find kids salopettes that still fitted their slim waists but also long legs and were wide enough to go over adult sized boots. Decathlon fit the bill perfectly for my youngest. For my eldest, I bought a pair of adult salopettes from Lidl. He's tall, but they fit him fine in the leg, I just used the waist adjusters to cinch him in.
