Hi accommodation is booked , staying at the House apartments. Does anyone else any restaurant or ski area recommendations please?
We're a group of 4 older adults, intermediate to good skiers. Thanks

Your apartment is in the centre of Zell, so there are numerous restaurants nearby. Although I live near Zell and often ski there, I rarely eat there (on the mountain or in town) so can't give you any recommendations.

As for skiing, Skiing in Zell is all centred on Schmittenhohe, which you can access using the City Express lift close to the apartment. Zell has lots of good intermediate skiing, but if you are good skiers you'll have skied it all in a couple of days. If the weather is clear (and/or the pistes are getting slushy) it is worth getting the bus over to the glacier at Kitzsteinhorn - the skiing is OK, but the views really make it.

Otherwise, the Ski Circus is also included in your Zell am See Alpin Ticket. You can access this area by taking the Zell am See Xpress gondola down to Viehhofen (you can't ski down the bottom half of the run to Viehhofen as there is insufficient snow, and the top half is sketchy too), from where there is a 5-minute shuttle to Schonleitenbahn, which is the entry point to the Ski Circus. From the top of Schonleiten, turn left to go to Saalbach and Hinterglemm (and Fieberbrunn if you're fast skiers) or right to go to Leogang. Getting back involves doing the same trip in reverse (bus from Schonleiten to Viehhofen, then the gondola back up to the Zell area). The alternative way of accessing the Ski Circus (and returning) is to use the 680 Postbus, which leaves from the bus station in Zell every hour at 15 mins past the hour, starting at 08.15 on weekdays.

Just be sure to choose the right day for the trip to Kitzsteinhorn - the view from the glacier is stunning on a sunny day, but it is a grim, folorn place on a cold, cloudy day. If your apartment has the webcam channel on the TV, you'll be able to see what the weather is like on the top of Kitzsteinhorn.
