DD is a competent intermediate skier. Has been having lessons on snow (inside) for a while. We've decided to go to Scotland at Feb half term so DD can experience outdoor "proper" skiing but I've no idea what to dress her in. For lessons she wears a thermal base layer, midlayer (hoodie/fleece) and ski pants/coat/ coat. She says she is warm enough but, although the centre is -5, there's no wind chill.

Will she be warm enough on a mountain like this? I don't ski. DH does (ish) but is always too hot so no use in this situation. Don't want her to be cold/miserable as she loves skiing and I don't want to put her off

Portable Snacks, skiing outside is really different from skiing inside.
base layers, too and bottom. Ski socks, fleece with zip, ski trousers, ski jacket, good quality warm gloves, a buf for her neck. You can also get a balaclava to go under her helmet- it should be if a thin material. Then it can be removed and stuffed into her pocket if she gets too hot.
Sometimes the disposable pocket warmers are also helpful. They warm up slowly over time and sit in your pockrt. They you can add them to you gloves if you want.

This is what I suspected. Thank you for the advice. I'll get her a fleece and some base layer tops
