Hire equipment here or in France?

We're driving to France in Feb, and will need to hire skis, boots helmets etc for adults & children. Would people recommend hiring here or in resort? Thanks

Likely to be cheaper, easier to get tweaks done, don't have to transport it.

In resort. If you need to swap anything it will be far easier done there than here. Usually your accommodation will recommend/give you discount for a hire shop

PS since my nephew got impetigo from a hire helmet, I’ve always been a bit twitchy about hire helmets! There is a vg range at Decathlon if you were to want to bring your own!

100% in resort. I don't even know where you'd go about hiring equipment here? (Assuming 'here' is the UK).

Hire in resort. All hire places in resort allow you to return and swap as needed, so if you ski day one and find skis a fraction too long or boots too tight they will exchange.
Plus takes up lot of car space which isn’t worth it unless you own your own decent equipment

Definitely hire in resort. You can get an online discount usually if you order in advance.

In resort. My skis were taken from outside a restaurant last year. The hire shop were invaluable in getting a speedy resolution. Would have been a total nightmare if I'd hired them here!

Skis, boots and poles in resort and do the booking in advance but I’d get your own helmets.
