New Year skiing, what to do?

Seasoned skiers, please help advice 🙏. We are due to go skiing in the French pyrenees on 1st January. The snow fall so far has been nearly non existent, and the long range forecast is not promising. Should I just hold tight, and hope for a large dump, and if that fails pack hiking boots? Or is it worth cutting our losses and looking at other resorts in the southern Alps thst we could drive to from Toulouse airport? And if so where would you recommend (I've looked at val thorens, which is a 7 hour drive and seems to have little available accommodation).
I'd welcome all thoughts. Thank you.

Where are you actually going, they’ve had 78% of normal levels but looks forecast to snow this week.

We're going to Les Angles, but the forecasts I'm looking at are all blue skies and mild weather.

Southern French alps looking good. Check out Les Orres, Vars, Crévoux, Reallon, the Queyras. You’ll get somewhere to stay there. Fab skiing!

Same for us, due in on 31st.
I can see snow forecast from 31st onwards which looks promising. We are going to chance it. Had this booked for months and with work, don't think we can reschedule.
Hope you enjoy whatever you decide.

You too. We've decided just to go for it for various reasons that make the other options difficult. First hand accounts from the region is they are working very hard with snow cannons. I've always wanted to try snowboarding so might be a good opportunity to do that!
