Late Dec/early Jan - resort with lots of activities

We want to go on holiday after Boxing Day for a week or so. The kids are not back at school until the 10th Jan - where would you go?

Access to a usable pool is a must as both kids (8 and 10) are keen on water.

DH and kids have suggested skiing but it's really not my bag. In the general holiday thread someone suggested a ski resort with lots of other activities. Please note that with mild SEN issues there has to be private and patient tuition etc for the children so kids clubs and ski schools would not be for them.

any recommendations?

Tignes is one of the rare resorts that should be pretty snowsure at that time of year and it has a decent public aquatic centre.
Tignes is well known for provision for additional needs (in particular accessible skiing but also including SEN). However if your child will likely be fine in a private lesson with a patient instructor most schools could cater I’m sure. Might be worth asking on snowheads. Evolution 2 is a good general ski school there for private lessons and groups.
if you want somewhere more chichi for the nonskier Val d’Isere would also fit the bill at a higher price.
I’d start looking soon as that’s a busy week and it’s late to book.

Seconding Tignes, we will be there on Boxing Day. Usually ski early December and never had a problem, lots of great ski schools and if you want childcare I personally know of a wonderful nanny agency that also do great with SEN.

Great pool and spa as well as indoor trampolines. Lots of xmassy activities and an amazing new years firework display on the snow front.

would suggest staying in Le Lac for ease of access to pool/ lessons but everywhere is easily accessible on free hop on/hop off buses.
