Avoriaz or Les Gets- beginner

My DH is a newbie snowboarder and I'll have a 5 and 3 year old in tow and skiing for the first time. We will also have a 1 year old so I'll need somewhere with decent childcare. I'm an experienced skier but not going on this holiday for the long ski days, it'll be more about getting my DH and kids into it.

Any recommendations on either Avoriaz or Les Gets being best? Going in January.

Avoriaz is slightly more expensive but I like the draw of the pool there if the kids get whinghy.
Childcare seems less available in Avoriaz though and likewise it's a bit of a faff with the 1 year old as it's pedestrianised so not buggy friendly (we don't own a 3 wheeler).

Grateful of any tips to my make life that little bit easier!!!

Def Les Gets. Took my dh there as a complete novice. We had a lovely week. It’s a quaint little town, very pretty. Avoriaz the skiing is stunning but it’s a purpose built resort quite ugly.
But regardless they’re both the same ski area so you’ll likely visit the other whichever you choose.

Avoriaz will be more snowsure but in January it shouldn’t be an issue.

Defo Les Gets. Nice place and great for beginners. Avioraz is soulless to wonder around if not skiing. Enjoy!

As PP said definitely worth popping into Morzine and you can get the little train from the bottom of La Pleney to the Super Morzine cable car and back which kids love to do (La Pleney is v near centre so easy to get to and fantastic little creperie hut just down from lift)

I'd agree with Les Gets. Took ours there when they were small and it's very child friendly. They still talk about the Indian Village and the Milka run.

Avoriaz is a pain ... fir all the reasons above but the biggest reason is you have to trek about in the snow on the evenings ... there are very few clear pathways and after a day of skiing, having to trudge around in the evenings is rubbish .

I'd opt for Morzine , much nicer and very accessible on skis and by foot!
