Yes campo smith is nice located. Do take a day or two to visit Jafferau, it is fab.

@PreplexJ we are all complete beginners! We chose campo smith as the ski school meets outside! Would jafferau be really difficult for us to access? How are the restaurants & is the village itself nice?

@55balloons campo smith is right next to the chairlift to melezet, a lot of beginner slopes, and some intermediate slope higher up. For absolute beginner you probably will stay first few days around that area. Just a handful restaurant selections nearby.

I remember it will take 20-30 minutes walk to the main villiage, there is a shuttle bus too. The village itself is nice and tradition with more restaurant choices. There is shuttle bus to Jafferau too, but it is probably too much a stretch for first time beginners can ask for coach opinions before you visit.
