When is February half term 2024 in your area?

South Wales here and we break up on February 9th - a week earlier than the last 2 years.

I’ve got a horrible feeling that because Easter is so early we might all be off across the UK at the same time.

We break up Friday 9th and back Monday 19th - Yorkshire.

Friday 16th is last day of term here. We had a later half term than others this year too, as dc had their first day back today.

12th-16th here. Break up on 9th and go back 20th after inset day on 19th.

Leicestershire here. Our half term in Mon 19th to Friday 23rd Feb. Break up on 22nd March for Easter which I'm v happy about because we ski at Easter and it's always a bonus when it's early.

Ooh @PickleSarnie next year is a lucky one for you. You will be spoiled for choice for quiet slopes both HT and Easter!

Leicestershire has awesome school holidays @skilikeagirl - we are always a week early at summer and often different at Easter. One year, Skiworld clearly hadn't realise that there were some schools on holiday so we got a catered chalet for £600 per person instead of the £1500 per person the week before!! It was awesome!

We break up on the 9th Feb next year but we're a week earlier than the rest of the county. I was hoping that would mean a cheaper holiday but seems not! Our October 23 is out of sync with the rest of the county too.

@PickledSarnie, those dates are fantastic! Lucky you! Though I suspect the half term between Easter and the end of May half term holiday feels rather long?

We want to ski at Easter next year too. The schools break up the day before Good Friday, which means we can travel on the Friday (29 March).

But I'm wondering if the roads in France will be clogged up with people heading to the slopes on that same day? We'd likely do a good chunk of the drive on Good Friday, stay over a couple of hours from wherever (likely somewhere in the Bourg-St-M direction), and finish the drive on Eastr Saturday. Crazy idea and asking to sit in tailbacks?

French families aren't really big into late season skiing. They'd rather head south for some sun. Traffic is nothing like half term so perfectly doable. We fly at HT, drive for the Easter holidays

Just a heads up that easyJet Feb half term flights are out next Thursday if you want to join the scramble for ski flights.

Wizzair already has some out for that week altho they don't go to the big French and Swiss ski airports, they do go to several Italian ones.

Not sure about Ryanair.

Judicious planing needed unless youre rolling in it and don't mind crowds ....

We have a static 'Easter' holiday now. The Easter weekend is usually part of it but not always. In 2024 Easter weekend is the Friday-Monday, and the holiday begins on the Tuesday.
