Video skiing

Hi

How do you take videos / photos while skiing? I'd like to capture some action shots of DC but they're too fast to follow with my phone out now. GoPro seems ££££, are there any ideas inbetween?

This isn’t a cheap option at all but we’ve recently changed from a gopro to an insta360 and it’s a game changer.

The kids could film themselves using the invisible selfie stick. You can also film all of you skiing together which we like with our toddler. If the kids are tech savvy and like making videos it might be a good investment or Xmas present!

We got ours second hand and saved a couple of hundred quid.

Almost all “viral” ski videos you will see on tik tok/insta are filmed on one and it looks like a drone is filming you. We’ve used it for travel videos and snow sports.

We were able to hire a GoPro (actually it was free) in St Anton. I’ve no idea how common that is but the media centre there basically gave you the GoPro for 24 hours and then edited a video for you based on your footage. That was a few years ago.

I hired one last year for the week. Arrives in a box with all the attachments you need (including the chest strap which works really well for skiing). You also get a memory card to keep. Mine was from here www.envio.rentals/

My editing skills were terrible though!!
