Has anyone bought and skied in these? I've bought a Dope ski jacket and it feels awfully thin. Bit worried!

Yes! I saw them advertised online, thought they looked nice but didn’t think they would be any good. Then saw a bloke on my commute wearing Dope and just asked him how it was.
Now I have some underlayers, gloves, ski pants and a lighter snowboard jacket. My husband also has their snowboard pants.
We both absolutely love it! You need to layer with it though. It stands up to weather perfectly and we live towards the north of Norway, it’s been very very cold here in December too.

Sorry, forgot to add that I also have an Oakley Thermonuclear snowboarding cost that was eyewateringly expensive (but I’m outside over here A LOT and have to wait at a windy harbour for my boat to work) and the Dope stuff I have really goes toe to toe with the Oakley for quality and performance.

Amazing feedback! Thank you! Did you choose the thinner or thicker Dope jacket?

I'm also utterly fascinated in your Norwegian lifestyle!

😊😊 I have the thinner jacket as I’m a big fan of layering up and I don’t like things too bulky. If I’m downhill skiing and it’scold I’ll wear a base layer (merino wool, check out the Kari Traa Brand) then my Dope layer and then my jacket. I’ll wear a buff too to make sure the wind doesn’t go down my neck. The Dope pants I wore in December in minus 12 with just thick socks and no underlayer on my legs.
If I’m moving around a lot or cross country skiing then I only wear one base layer and I’m toasty.
Incidently, the Oakley coat is pretty thin too and also super toasty.
Have fun skiing!

i like the dope stuff, good quality and looks lovely for the price. Thinner is better in my mind, can add or take away layers underneath depending on the weather one jacket can work for all parts of the season. Plenty of people wearing it where we ski.

My kids liked it. Not too hot, but roomy so can wear a cashmere or fleece or two underneath.

I bought one and love it. Skied in -9 at Xmas and didn’t feel cold at all. One base layer and a thin mid layer. Have the snow pants too, I’m impressed

HerRoyalNotness · 12/01/2023 22:21

When I was looking at a new jacket, guy in store said don’t be out off by the thinness as tech has moved on and jackets don’t need to be bulk to be warm. He was right

I have a ski jacket and love it. I've needed a fleece layer underneath but fine to layer up.
