We’re looking at going to Pragelato Sestriere club med in March. Has anyone been and can report back, also will there be good snow at that time of year?

TIA!

I cant help with Club Med, sorry. I and others contributed to recent threads about Sestriere which will give some general info on the area.

March is a long month in the skiing season so you would need to be more specific early, mid or late. The Via Lattea isn't the most snow sure of areas in good years. The warm temperatures and rain in the western alps over the last couple of weeks won't have helped the snow base so unless there is a lot of snow Jan / Feb it may well be very poor. I skid in Sauze the other side of the mountain early March 10 years or so ago and the temperature was hot, mid teens in Sestriere, with the snow visibly disappearing.

We tried to ski to Sestriere from Montgenèvre yesterday. Not great. The snow in montgenevre is fine, but the Via Lattea links aren’t great. Got to high point and the blue to sestriere was shut….didn’t fancy bubble down, so went back to France. I’m sure you could have a great time there, but on the 2 occasions I’ve been, it’s not been good for us.
