Does anyone know of good resorts to take young kids snowboarding? Some ski schools won't take children under 8 for Snowboard lessons. I know of Mint Snowboard school in let's gets/morzine/avoiraz that do younger children but is anyone aware of any other European resorts that cater for young children?

Pretty much all resorts cater for young children but because small children don't always have the motor skills and balance required for snowboarding, schools set minimum age limits.

You need to pick the resort(s) and then google the different ski and snowboard schools to see what programmes they offer. For example, the leading snowboard school in Saalbach, (Board.AT) has a Young Boarder Zone, but has a minimum age of 7.

One option is to book a private instructor for a trial lesson for the two children.

Another option for the kids is for them to ski this time - which kids as young as 4 can have a reasonable go at (and which is also the back-up option should they struggle with the trial snowboard lesson).

Thanks, I dont really want them to ski as they have already started Snowboard lessons on the dry slope. The other option is I just try and teach them myself but I know they would progress quicker with lessons from an instructor.

The fact that they can already snowboard (or should be able to after a few sessions on the dry slope) completely changes the situation. Likewise if they are already skateboarding and have shown that they have the balance and motor skills needed. The snowboard schools will almost certainly take them, but possibly only in private lessons rather than in group lessons.

Does it have to be Europe? Most of the big US resorts have snowboarding group lessons for over 5s.

Oxygene in Tignes do group snowboard lessons from 5 up. Haven’t checked the rest but there are plenty of little snowboarders around the resort so shouldn’t be a problem.

Can also recommend Tignes Sprirt hire shop for little snowboards and boots if you need them. They have been amazing with our toddler!

Thanks for the hire recommendation. I love Tignes as well so I will have a look
