Can anyone recommend a hotel with pool a couple of hours drive from Calais?
Looking to travel till late on the Friday, stay over then tire the kids out the following morning so they sit nicely for the rest of the journey in the afternoon 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Absolutely nothing to offer, but following with interest

We always stay at the Novotel in Beaune. Not massively exciting but newly refurbed, decent enough restaurant, right off the motorway and good value. There is a pool but unsure if it’s open in winter, if it is they must really crank up the heating if it is as it’s outdoors! You could call them to ask?

How old are the kids? We chose to drive through the night, which meant kids slept 90% of the journey. We are planning to do this again no way mine would happy in the awake for that length of journey.

This doesn’t have a pool, but we liked it. 2.5hrs from Calais, outside Reims. I wanted to stop by Reims to see the cathedral. It’s where all the Kings of France were crowned and has a memorial statue to Joan of Arc.

The Novotel at Reims Tinqueux has an outdoor pool, family rooms, is about 2hr 45 from Calais and right by the A4 so very convenient for a stopover. Not stayed here, but is close to A5 and has indoor pool, but it's about an hour further south from Reims: www.le-val-moret.com/en/

Like a previous poster we stay at the Novotel at Beaune. But we’re not travelling with children. For us it’s the closeness to the route and the EV chargers that matter but the rooms and restaurant are also good.

We do stay there with kids- family rooms are decent with 2 sofa beds, there’s a bit of a play area outside and a toy corner in the lobby. The kids are good on the car though so really we just want a quick stopover for the night and it’s more than adequate, actually perfectly pleasant!

We stayed here last winter. It has a fab pool and good sized family rooms, and is 2 minutes from the autoroute. It was not super cheap but felt like an extra bit of holiday fun, rather than just a quick sleepover .
