Where to go skiing with a 5 month old?

Obviously she won't be skiing!

Looking for suggestions for somewhere that has things for me to spend my days with the baby, but also suits DH and his parents (experienced skiiers), and a 6 and 3 year old (will need ski school). Hopefully I'll get some time skiing but would like somewhere that has other things to do that's not just sitting inside with a baby.

I would recommend going to Morzine as it is a great family resort. It is in one of the largest ski areas with 650km of piste and you can also ski in Les Gets, Avoriaz and in Switzerland with lots of different slopes to suit all abilities. There is a lot to do if you don’t want to go skiing. You could go on a horse and carriage ride around town or on the carousel which is both next to the tourist office. There is also a park which is under the Super Morzine bubble and if you walk past the park there are some stables with horses which might to fun to look at. There is a fun train you can go on which takes you on round trips from Super Morzine to Pleney. There is a few pools which might be fun to go to, there is one in Morzine which has a small children pool area and one in Avoriaz called Aquariaz which is fun for all ages and has slides, climbing walls, hot tub and a little children pool area. There is a restaurant in Morzine called Le Colibri which is great for families as it has a little children’s play area. You could also go on a bubble ride and play in the snow or sit in a restaurant and watch the skiers/borders. All the bubbles area able to fit in buggies.

There are lots of ski schools in Morzine for children and most of them speak English. My favourite is New Generation, The Snow Institute and Bass

Our friends swear by the Club Med ski resorts for the childcare provision.

Definitely try Club Med, they include childcare and Kids clubs and if you aren't skiing there is always the spa! We always book with www.skiline.co.uk its cheaper to book with them than direct..

I used to do ski holidays with Esprit when mine were tiny. The older ones could do ski school and ski and the baby could be in a nursery for a couple of hours while I skied. I would then spend the afternoon with the baby in the chalet eating cake while my husband skied with the older children.

Just realised this thread is old. Sorry.

Skiing is the one board where you can resurrect 6 month old threads as advice is often still valid.

Where did you go for in the end @GreenCereal?

Muchtoomuchtodo · 01/01/2023 21:55

@Skiingmum1966 how do skiline manage to get clubmed holidays cheaper?

I always assumed booking direct and booking early would have got us the best deals.
