Thinking ahead to next year already!

We’ll be a group of 17 with kids from 4 to 17.

Happy to self cater in a big apartment but it must be near to a supermarket and with easy (short walk ideally) access to ski lessons.

I’ve only been once to Sestriere in Italy and Zell am See when I was in school so I’m hoping by asking around we can get some resort suggestions that might fit the bill. If anyone knows of suitable accommodation too that would be amazing!

The accommodation will be your sticking point for Italy / Austria. They don't seem to have the same sort of chalet set up that France does. There are some in Austria but I haven't found many places in resort that offer what you're looking for - they tend to be slightly away from the resort which would mean driving / catching the ski bus. We've done both (Austria and Italy) - Austria is very much hotel-oriented or smaller "pensions". Italy seems to have more apartments / AirBnBs etc (as well as hotels) but haven't found much for big groups.

I've recommended Cervinia quite a few times on here. Everything is so close to the slopes - if you're a big group with children, there's no long walks in ski boots to lifts, no faff in a morning, and it would work really well if some people wanted to go back to the accommodation / meet up later. Tons of wide cruisey blues for the little ones, pizza and ice cream.

We have done s/c as a group of 8 in Kitzbuhel/Kirchberg/Obendorf a few times. We just get an AirBnB and get the ski bus or train (stop/station is right at the Hannenhahn lift, to get you up to ski school). We always make sure we are staying near a bus stop or train station.

We have done an online shop for the main food shop for the week, and then just picked up bits and pieces from the supermarket after that.

Finding a house for 17 could be a challenge though - that's a lot of bedrooms!

We had a huge house in Sweden 2 years ago for even more people and I naively thought that I’d be able to find something similar without too much trouble!
