Helmets/goggles?

Not sure what to do for our upcoming ski trip - helmets are included in our ski rental, but goggles are not… I have read that the goggles need to fit with the helmets?? Does anyone have any advice for me please… my mind is frazzled with ski prep!

Goggles have straps that can be adjusted to go around the helmets...

The colour of the lenses however matter, you need to pick a colour that suits the conditions of the slopes. Orange lenses are normally your safest bet as they are quite compatible with most weather conditions!

The goggles go over the helmet and attach at the back.

So they don’t need to be compatible? I can just buy the goggles from Decathlon & we will be fine?! And go for orange Grin

Yes, I've never heard of them needing to be "compatible" with the helmet. People tend to wear different branded helmets to goggles all the time. Just ensure the goggles have a big enough strap to be adjusted around the helmet, unless you have a hulk-sized head this shouldn't be an issue.

I expect all goggles will be compatible with helmets these days. They didn't always used to have long enough straps but since helmet wearing has become the norm they all will be.

We bought ours from Decathlon and hire helmets - never had a problem.

Decathlon goggles are really good and yes they will go with whatever helmets. Do just make sure the fit is right in terms of depth down the face (ie don’t get adult ones for kids) as that’s the thing that can muck up the fit by pushing the helmet up

There's normally a poppered tab or loop to hold the strap of the goggles at back of helmet.
