Romantic ski weekend

Hi there
Can anyone recommend a good ski destination for a romantic weekend away? Ideally France.. we love Austria but they seem a bit tricky with covid rules and more likely to change the rules. We're both triple jabbed. Thanks in advance

I don't really associate skiing with romance! Grin What kind of thing are you after? Do you mean in a Last Christmas kind of way?
Or just a pretty alpine village?

If you're only going for a weekend you really want somewhere that doesn't have a ridiculous transfer time so you can make the most of your time at the slopes so that would probably be Alp d'Huez, Avoriaz, Chamonix. But the second two would mean you need to fly into Switzerland so not sure how that effects covid rules etc.

Of the three Chamonix would probably be the most romantic.

Actually you could look at Chatel or Argentière too

I don’t know what the Italian covid rules are like but would recommend Italy for a ski weekend. Courmayeur or Cortina would be good for example. Good food, not too crowded, short transfers generally.

Saint Gervais Les Bains - beautiful village with a michelin star restaurant (Le Serac), chocolate shops, cafe and the Serac has a bistro as well.. all gorgeous. There is a beautiful spa a few KMs down the valley (you might need to hire a car from Geneva to make it easy to get around) and a cute red cog train that takes you to Les Houches to ski or you can head in the other direction towards Mégeve. There is a La Follie Douce which is a cool place to stop to eat or drink and if you ski into Mégeve there are lots of fancy restaurants including if I remember L'Alpette which is at the top of one of the big lifts which was beautiful, full of hot waiters and the occasional celebrity. Also Chamonix, there is a beautiful spa there too..

Zermatt? Eye wateringly expensive but stunning mountains!!

Thanks for the suggestions. Going to look into Chamonix as we have been there years ago so would be familiar with the resort which would help if only going for a weekend I think and it's a short transfer

Megeve looks absolutely stunning but I think chamonix might be a bit more reasonable price wise. I noticed they have a folie douce there too so we can go there for some apres!
