Changing our Feb holiday from France

We are first time skiers, booked to go to France in half term. If I am able to move our holiday imminently (due to teen not being vaccinated, never mind the fact we might not be able to get into France), where should I go? I usually research things like this to the death before booking, but I just don't feel I have it in me!! TIA

Similar position. Have 12yr old with 1 dose (who can't have 2nd dose before half term) and 16 yr old with 2 doses (with UK not offering a booster yet for them). We've looked at Italy (but they require anyone over 12 to have had 2 vaccines) and Austria (anyone over 16 to have had 2 vaccines + booster) so both out of us. We're looking at Switzerland (but am guessing its going to be crazy busy because everyone who had planned to fly into Geneva and head over to France will just head to Switzerland instead).

Andorra doesn't require teens to be vaccinated I believe. But you need to get through France or Spain....

I would suggest a smallish resort wherever your tour operator can move you to. If you are first time skiers, you don't need a big resort - anywhere with lots of greens and blues with the odd red run. Don't worry about blacks! I have no idea on the rules in different countries, but hopefully your operator can help. Maybe Bulgaria/slovenia might be more flexible than France/Italy etc?

Rumour has it that France is will be open by then, there’s a meeting of the defence council on Wednesday. I really would not move your holiday before the outcome of that meeting is known if you can wait.

I doubt everyone will head to Switzerland - many British skiers consider it expensive and won’t go. Many will go to Italy or Austria if they have only young children/childfree.

It's looking like good news... fingers crossed!

France is now open for business, however if it's not too late to change my friend has just booked a trip to Bulgaria for her and her teenage DD, all in including lift passes and half board its £1500 for both of them in a 4 star hotel. I imagine the skiing is pretty limited, but should be enough for beginners for a week.

Bulgaria recently changed entry for all over 12s to have either full vaccination or recovery cert (not available for 12-17 in uk) plus 72hr PCR
