Friends of ours have returned from skiing in Bulgaria. They had a great time, with no Covid issues at all apart from the tests required by the UK. Half the guests had had their French trips cancelled, had booked at the last minute, and were pleasantly surprised. Plane journey a bit longer than Austria, but much cheaper, and state of slopes by all accounts pretty good, so worth considering.
