We’re due to fly on the 19th into Geneva, travelling on France. We’ve decided to sit tight in the hope the Swiss revert the quarantine rule. Failing that, we’ll drive the 14hr journey. Interested to know what other Christmas travellers have decided.

Looks like it has changed this morning and you might be in luck Grin

It seems to change a few times per day at the moment with different official sources saying different things!
This is the most definitive yet though.

"There is no quarantine requirement for travellers arriving in Switzerland from the UK who wish to travel onward to another country, as long as travel through Switzerland is less than 24 hours and does not involve a stopover."

Hi, we have a similar trip planned. But my son is 14 and I am so so so confused.

He had one vaccination last week. He can't get a second for 3 months which takes us to after our trip.

I know that current rules mean that if we were flying into France he would need a PCR 24 hours prior to departure. Plus he would need a PCR every 24 hours once in France in order to get a pass sanitere so he can enter anywhere indoors and use ski lifts.

But, we are flying to Switzerland. Current rules there are that unvaccinated under 18s can travel with vaccinated parents.

So I am really really confused. I'd love to cancel the trip but we are going with family and if we cancel they would have to stump up for our costs.....

Before I get flamed I want to say that DH insisted we book this trip despite my reservations. I wanted to wait, he didn't. He's paid for it and wants to go if we can.

I think you have to comply with the Swiss rules for when landing in Geneva and then the French rules for once travel into France, it’s general entry rules into France not just if flying into France, it doesn’t matter what method of transport it’s same rules. He will need pass sanitare once in France so pcr within 24hrs before of crossing the border

@Hophop26 thank you that makes sense.

Realised he will need another test very quickly after crossing the border as well- because he has to have one every 24 hours once in France and not less than 24 hours before flying! Crikey!
