Looking for a cheap & cheerful weekend ski break...can anyone help, please?

Would love a break in January but price is an issue. Looking at going with friends, so it would be for 4 adults and 2 dc (ages 2 & 3). Travel would have to be on a Thursday night returning Sunday night. Could travel from any airport in the South and would go anywhere with snow.

It's more of a long shot just in case someone has seen something when browsing. Many thanks.

Hi there, try Soll, in Austria, it's fairly cheap to get to (I think a number of cheap airlines fly to Salzburg) and it's 1.5 hours to resort or there abouts (not sure on car hire!) I have a friend who is working there and he's just arrived and said that they are having the best snow they have ever had for this time of year.... Also, Pensions are fairly cheap and bookable seperatly..

Nightlife is fab too....

First things first......go to www.skyscanner.net and find your cheap flight. Once you have identifed a resort go to the resort website to check acommodation. Always avoid local half terms i.e Austria half term is 9-16 and 16-23 Feb. Having done all that I highly recommend Austria (I live there } so try www.tiscover.at.
