Anyone's DCs going on a New Year school ski trip?

We've picked an area to ski in that is not used by the main tour companies, but have been told that it might be over-run with school parties instead. We're going at New Year. Do schools still tend to run trips in the Xmas holidays, or do they opt to go later in the season?

Ours goes at Easter but I do know of another who go at New Year. Check websites like Skiplan to see if UK schools/groups specialists also go that resort, might give you na idea.

Thanks Lizs. Have checked that site just now and yes, the resort is used. But it doesn't say when schools opt for. I should have thought Easter/Feb half term would be more popular - I for one wouldn't want my DCs aaway from us at Xmas, although I did it at 15.

Ours are going first week of January, they get back the day before school starts.
