So idling discussing with friend the chance that we might be able to go skiing for a few days late in the season depending on what happens. There are cheap flights to Venice - anyone fly there and have any resorts to recommend. Friend says she'd be ok driving abroad to get to the resort.

Dolomites

Any particular resort you'd recommend for intermediate ( I'm more lower intermediate so some cruisy blues would be good) ?

We often fly to Venice for skiing. Have a look at Arabba, Corvara or Canazei.

Anywhere in the Dolomites. It's intermediate cruising blue heaven. Collett's is a great company for accommodation and ski touring with really flexible bookings this year. They do transfers from Venice too

Cortina

And now I have to go look at the flights......

San Cassiano is just the best.

@gnomeisland it's so tempting, even though it's madness to book anything just now, but if it's Easyjet could just carry them forward to next year.

The Marmolada glacier is pretty amazing, you would go to Arraba for this (or Malga Ciapela if you dont mind somehwere small.) Depending on your standard of skiing you might like Alleghe too part of Civetta ski area. I think there are about 80kms here. Nothing too challenging to ski, but you could do this resort one day then Marmolada the next. The lakeside location takes some beating!

Sorry just read that you are after cruisy blues definately look at Alleghe its a good fit for what you are after.

rookiemere · 04/12/2020 15:33

Thanks @SkiYetiMagic will have a look at those fingers crossed we do get to go next season

Yes @rookiemere we all have our fingers crossed. Im actually hopeful for Spring skiing end of March/April but Brexit may also scupper the plans!
