Sweden NY skiing half-cancelled - pursue? Change to somewhere else? Give up!

EasyJet have cancelled our flights to Åre for our new year trip. I can cancel our accommodation, hire & ski school so am wondering if it’s best to just give up this year?

Or is it worth booking new (and more expensive) flights? And keep the hope!

If I cancel everything I’m wondering if it’s worth booking through someone like Crystal who seem to have a load of cancellation guarantees - so if it happens great, but if not we’ll get a refund or can transfer the balance to a future trip which we’ll take at some point I’m sure.

Are other people remotely hopeful for NY? If you are, where are you going?

Thanks.

I’m not hopeful - my booking is not for NY but if NY looked feasible I would make a late booking and go anyway as who knows what’s next.
If you are genuinely happy to pay and have your balance transferred to later or next season why not. But if I were a betting person I’d say NY is less likely. As much as it pains me to say.

We're booked for half term and I don't even have hope that it will go ahead. :-(
Thinking maybe Easter?

No - not hopeful at all for the season.

Thought this might be helpful here

Apt user name @abricotine 😊

That article still sounds like there's hope for some skiing in 2021 but I just can't see it. Will be first year in 13 years we haven't been. :-(

I wouldn't be hopeful - we've done late skiing in Easter before, that maybe more viable though you have to check opening dates carefully and less guaranteed but we've always been lucky and half empty and cheaper.
